Most sensible conversation I have heard from a unionist on legacy issues. It is good to hear a voice of reason. He is very pessimistic though. I could see the IRA telling all volunteers to share all their information openly in public when the British give the same instruction to its agents and bodies. I think everyone would then accept the no investigation of legacy issues. We will never get justice but at least we should demand the truth. Good to hear rational thought on the future as well.
Hi Jude . These periscope things are very successful to my mind. I have to say, I have a lot of time for John, even though I might not neccessarily agree with all of his politics. He strikes me as a a reasonable sort of fellow whom you can have a logical conversation with. He certainly talked a lot of sense about the money being wasted on pointless investigations which could be freed-up for something in the future rather than the dead past.He mentioned a figure of £200million . That’s not to be sniffed at. He also appears to have a well-developed sense of self -deprecating humour which is a big plus for me …and never a bad thing in Norneverland politics. Pity the video crashes at 33.30, though. It was getting interesting just there.
I don’t think NI21 are Unionist per se. I think they are “Other”. Aside from this NI21 do seem to talk alot of sense but they are fighting a tide of tribal politics. NI21 can afford to be rational and speak common sense because they are a small party. SF and DUP would hemorrhage voters if they were to do the same.

Grma, PK. I’d say the few minutes that were lost were easily the best, but then that’d be lying…

Completely forgot that John is no longer a member of NI21 due to the split. A party that almost was almost on to something…
NI21 is fighting more than ‘tribal politics’, as you term it, aRon…
