“Bit of sunshine on Thursday, so I headed down to Lough Neagh to see some of our foreigner winter visitors to the lough arrive, but sadly none have arrived as still too warm further north to drive them south. Hopefully within the next two weeks we’ll get a good cold snap and birds from Canada, Iceland and Scandinavia will start to arrive in their thousands. Good to have our local Buzzards, Redshank and Lapwings to lift the soul.”

“THE  DANE of our LIVES

Snaps taken at the Danish Holiday Village in Mellieha, Malta  on Wednesday, the day after the night before.

This is an imaginative enterprise set up in 1970 by Dom Mintoff and the Danish Trade Unions Federation, for the benefit of the latter’s  free-travel-pass members.

The swimming pool was cemetery silent, in contrast to the whooping and hollering by veteran Vikings in the bar of the Great Dane in the wee small hours. This was no surprise.

The front page of the Danish Brainwash featured a photo of Big Tom on its front page. This was a surprise.”
