

Pat and I talk about emigration and how it ain’t what it used to be, thanks to international travel (back before Covid) , the fact that Zoom means you can play with your grandchildren even when they’re thousands of miles away. But is the ache still there?
Our second topic was the many people who are relocating from the big cities – particularly Dublin – and discovering the advantages of working from home in more rural surroundings. Will it last, post-Covid? Is tearing up one’s roots that easy?
Finally, we gave God the once over. It’s one thing not talking about religion or politics, but does admission that you’re a person of faith consign you to the Dark Ages nowadays?
