PAT + JUDE TALK ABOUT THATCHER’S STATUE, THE SOUTH’S QUALITY OF LIFE AND MARADONA THE BABY-MAKER…

Grantham Council – Grantham being Margaret Thatcher’s home town – are having an argument about a ten-foot statue of the former prime minister. It cost £300K to create and will cost another £100k to put in place. Oh, and a Facebook site has had 14,000 sign-ups of people who want to throw eggs at it. Should we treat Britain’s first woman prime minister in such an ungrateful way?

The south of Ireland has been listed second in the world for its quality of life. This ranking is arrived at by a combination of life expectancy, education, salary and a few other items. Is this possible? And would things get better or worse if the north of Ireland joined to form a new Ireland?

Finally, Maradona is providing problems, even though he’s dead. The authorities in Argentina have said he must not be cremated, because they need his DNA to deal with a considerable number of paternity suits in both Argentina and Italy. Should a man who is, um, reckless in his paternal activities have been allowed to play?

Tune in and grow wiser by the minute….
