In the south of Ireland, there’s a housing crisis. Leo Varadkar has claimed that Sinn Fin are engaging in “nastiness, fury and anger” about this crisis, and has told them to ‘get real’. Sinn Féin, needless to say, disagrees. So is there only a pretend housing crisis?
Billionaire Richard Branson is planning to go into space on 11 July (yes, yes, he’ll miss the bonfires) which will annoy billionaire Jeff Bezos, because he’s lined up to do the same thing on 20 July. They say they’re planning to create a ‘space tourism’ industry. Are they right, or are they disgustingly rich people with more money than morals?
According to Liz Dunphy in today’s Irish Examiner, there’s been a huge surge in applications for cosmetic surgery by women AND men, because of the pandemic. People have been looking at themselves on Zoom and seeing defects they want remedied. Would you pay to have what Pat calls “a trout pout”?
And finally – will you be cheering for England, now they’ve set their sights on being in the final – and winning it – on 11 July in Wembley (yes, yes, they’ll miss the bonfires). I won’t. Can’t speak for McArt.
