
There were 40,000 in Croke Park yesterday to see the All-Ireland Hurling Final. Great game, but how come 40,000 can gather there yet a few hundred aren’t allowed at a concert? Will mixed messaging be the political death of Micheál Martin?
The three candidates running to lead the big trade union Unite are concerned about working from home. Would it be OK if the bosses required a webcam in your home, so they’d know you were working?
And finally (takes out hanky and wipes eyes) yesterday Don Everly, the surviving half of the Everly Brothers, died. The brothers (like Oasis) couldn’t stand each other but they made some unforgettable music. Or is it sweet because oldies like myself (and McArt) are reminded of our youth every time we hear them and others sing?
