PAT+JUDE TALK ABOUT THE SDLP IN OPPOSITION, HOW TO SURVIVE REJECTION, TRUMPISM, AND THE WEATHER…

Colum Eastwood has announced that the SDLP will form the official opposition in Stormont. Apart from the fact that Stormont is still down, giving Matthew O’Toole the role of leader of the opposition makes sense – articulate guy, has worked in Downing Street, good brain.  But does he suffer from the same drawback as Mark Durkan?

Rejection – there’s an app for that. Apparently it involves making sure a day doesn’t pass where you don’t arrange to have yourself rejected. EH?? Yep. And it might work.

Trump is sliding in the estimation of his followers, but there are plenty of other Republicans who can’t wait to fill his shoes. Was the storming of the Capitol buildings the start of a deeper, more divided US?

Finally, the weather. One day we’re sweltering, the next there is flooding. Are we concerned only because it has come to our door – other parts of the world have been suffering far worse for far longer. And anyway, are we not a bit fixated about the weather in general. My hand is up: I keep asking Pat about the weather in Donegal….
