The Ukrainian refugee problem in the south of Ireland looks to be getting out of control – some 50,000+ refugees are now in the south of Ireland, and a state where housing and health are already near breaking point is having to cope with what sounds like an impossible extra burden. Or is this just nimbyism in disguise?
Joe Biden has made a speech denouncing Trumpism as anti-democratic. Did he nod off during the last couple of years? Surely he noticed that long ago? Or maybe – just maybe – it’s all about the mid-term elections?
And how are your personal pronouns? Do you mind if you are asked to call a young person ‘they’, even if it’s clear there’s just one person? Is this simply tolerance in action, or are we taking leave of our senses?
