An article in today’s Irish Times comments on how so many countries have been built on the destruction of the culture and the dispossession killing of the native people. Examples? US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand – the list goes on. Should reparation be made in some way, or what?

Finally, there are 65,000 holiday homes in the twenty-six counties. The Dublin government is considering using these to house refugees. Leo Varadkar has noted that local communities need to be in agreement with such a move, but at the same time, no person or community has the right to say ‘You can’t live here’.
