PAT+JUDE TALK ABOUT SEAN QUINN, THE WORLD CUP, URSULA & KATE, AND THE BBC PULLS PLUGS IN DERRY

 

Last week RTÉ ran a three-part documentary on Sean Quinn, once the richest man in Ireland. Did they explain with sufficiently clarity what happened? Sean Quinn and his wife feel they were shafted, Alan Dukes thinks border people are prone to violence.

The World Cup – was that decision about the-ball-over/not over the line rigged? There’ve been some good games, but does the stench of money and corruption around the Cup location being awarded to Qatar sour the whole affair?

Ursula Von der Leyen addressed both houses of the Oireachtas last week, and when she suggested the southern state understood the need to fight for its independence, she upset Kate Hoey, late of this parish, more than a little.

Finally, the BBC is stripping its Radio Foyle of vital elements on costs grounds. Is this the old story of Belfast not understanding how things are and what matters west of the Bann?
