Jude remarked (4 Feb) on mantras, including Tony Blair’s “Education, Education, Education.”
I first took notice of Blair, hearing him on the radio Adressing the Labour Party Conference
as Shadow Home Secretary.
He came out with the soundbite “Tough On Crime, Tough on the Causes of Crime.”
I wrote that day to Private Eye suggesting another snappy slogan which they were too prim
to print – “Hard On Fornication, Hard On the Cause of F……….”
At the same time companies were wasting money with the trite slogan “Investors in People”
and I wrote that Slave Traders could make the same boast. The Eye published cartoons
taking my point.
Jude thinking this is a really good opportunity for Sweden to send in humanitarian help to Turkey amidst this disaster there. Thoughts?
