THE TOPSYTURVY WORLD OF URSULA VON DER LAYEN by Donal Kennedy

It has been decreed by Ms Von Der Layen and apparently engraved on tablets by European Union
Governments that the Soviet Union and the Third Reich were the joint instigators of the Second World War.

That decree is a damnable lie, as I will explain later.

A week or so ago Ms Von Der Layen congratulated Zionists on 75 years of making the desert bloom
in Palestine. Another damnable lie.

For centuries millions of Jews lived in peace with their neighbours in the Ottoman Empire and it
seems the most prosperous of them lived is Mesopotamia (today’s Iraq.) Palestine when captured
by the British in 1917 had about 600,000 Arabs and about one tenth of that number Jews, with no
conflict between them. Arthur Balfour, who as Prime Minister in 1905 introduced THE ALIENS ACT
(the first Act in British History to limit immigration) he explicitly said it was to stop Jews fleeing
persecution under the TSAR. In 1904 Balfour had created The Committee of Imperial Defence,
a secret body including Tories and Liberal Imperialists plotting the destruction of Germany, a project which bore fruit 14 years later. As Foreign Secretary in 1917 in furtherance of British Imperial interests he promised a homeland in Palestine for Jews. European Christian persecution of Jews created modern Zionism – the Dreyfus affair being a major factor.

Zionists took revenge on  Moslem and Christian Arabs in Palestine who had done them no harm. In 1948 they bulldozed hundreds of villages, olive groves and farms.

About twenty years ago, when I worked  in Tottenham Library, a Jewish woman who had been in  in Haifa in 1948 told me, unbidden, what she had seen at the time.

Bethan McKernan, Jerusalem Correspondent of THE GUARDIAN reported last Friday, 26 May 2023
that “Palestinian survivors that men living in Tantura, a now destroyed fishing village of approximately 1,500 people near Haifa, were killed after surrendering to the (Israeli) Alexandroni Brigade and their bodies dumped in an area that is now a car park for the Dor beach.”

The report continues “In recent years, a growing body of evidence for the Tantura massacre has generated controversy in Israel, where atrocities by Jewish forces in 1948 remain a sensitive subject.”

Since the days of C.P. Scott, the MANCHESTER GUARDIAN and its successor have been supporters of or sympathisers with Zionism.

I can understand the anger and frustration which drove some Jews to imitate their persecutors. But to claim that they had made the desert bloom by an orgy of murder and destruction is a distortion of history, But such nonsense is Ms Von Der Layen’s stock in trade.

When the Irish Government nominated, as was its right, a member of the European Commission,
Ms Von Der Layen, an unelected civil servant and Secretary of the Commission demanded that
it name a female candidate. She chose the female. The choice should not have been hers. There
is today no glass ceiling for women in public office in Ireland, nor has there ever been a sectarian
or religious barrier. Since 1938 there have been 2 male Protestant Presidents, 2 (anti-clerical) women Presidents, 4 Male Catholic Presidents, and, for the past 12 years a male President unaffiliated to any religion.Ms Von der Layen was out of order in this matter.

In 1934 Poland signed a 10 year non-aggression pact with the Third Reich. In 1938 joined
the Third Reich in seizing territory from Czechoslovakia. On October 5th of that month in
the House of Commons Winston Churchill condemned Poland’s action in the strongest terms.
The Soviet Union was ready to go to the defence of Czechoslovakia,in alliance with France
and with an understanding with Britain, until Britain’s Neville Chamberlain surrendered to Hitler
at Munich and instructed the Czechs not to oppose Hitler.

The late Lord Boothby was for many decades the intimate of the good, the bad and the ugly.
Lloyd George and Churchill, Harold and Dorothy MacMillan, the Kray Brothers and one of their
drivers. From the age of 24 for 50 years an MP and later a Life Peer, a founder member of the
Council of Europe he presents as an interesting witness.

In September 1938 he went to see the assembly of the League of Nation which was in full session.
“The atmosphere was very tense. Chamberlain had already flown to Berchtesgaden, and was about
to fly to Godesberg. Not, to be noted, to Geneva,

On 22 September, Litvinov (Soviet Commissar for Foreign Affairs since 1929) asked to see me at his hotel. When I walked into his sitting-room, he immediately burst into a bitter complaint about the British Government. Here he was, representing one of the great powers of the world at Geneva; and not one of the British representatives had paid him a courtesy call. For all he or they knew, we might be allies in war within a few days………I then asked him, point- blank whether, in the event of a German attack upon Czechoslovakia, Russia would fight. He replied unequivocally that if France fulfilled her obligations to Czechoslovakia, Russia would fight. He said they had already served notice of denunciation of the(German?) non-aggression pack with Poland in order to pass (Soviet) troops through to Czechoslovakia.. And he gave me precise figures of the number of aeroplanes they would place at the disposal of the Czechoslovakian Government in the event of War. I went immediately to see Lord  De La Warr, who, in the inexplicable absence of the Foreign Secretary, was leading the British Delegation; and he immediately wired to London to obtain the necessary instructions. For my part, I flew back to London next morning and sought an interview with Halifax himself. He was good enough to receive me at once, and I gave him a verbal account of my conversation with Litvinov of which he took a full note. But the Prime Minister was already well on the way to Munich.”

Litvinov’s account of these matters is essentially the account given by Churchill in the Commons in
his condemnation of the Munich agreement (6 October 1938) which I quoted in a previous blog.

I’m convinced that Litvinov (born Finkelstein) was a good man and I know Churchill was a monster and a liar.
