In his almost 1,100 page War Memoirs David Lloyd George reveals how wet behind the ears he was in 1904 when the Anglo-French Entente was announced.
In the first paragraph he tells of calling on ex-Prime Minister Lord Rosebery;-
“His first greeting to me was: ‘Well, I supose you are just as pleased as the rest of them
are with this French agreement?’ I assured him that I was delighted that our snarling and
scratching relations with France had come to and end at last. He replied. ‘You are all wrong.
It means war with Germany in the end.’ “
Since Louis Napoleon picked and lost a war with Prussia, and Germany was united
in 1870.British pundits such as H.G. Wells relished the prospect of war with Germany
and in 1903 Erskine Childers’s unlikely sailing yarn RIDDLE OF THE SANDS helped
stir the pot for the catastrophe ahead. In 1907 General Baden Poweell founded the Boy
Scouts as a para-military body with the Motto “Be Prepared” It dovetailed nicely with
Childers’ thriller and the determined scheme of the “COMMITTEE OF IMPERIAL DEFENCE” to crush Germany.
Despite the apparent disagreements between Liberals and Tories leading Liberals
such as Asquith and (at the time) Churchill, were at one with the Tories led by Balfour
in the warmongering conspiracy. Roger Casement, serving in Britain’s Consular Service exposed the conspiracy as a Crime Against Europe and the Foreign Office under Sir Edward Grey (whom Casement knew well) ordered him murdered. The British Minister in Oslo (then called Christiana) had a couple of his goons seize Casement’s servant and offered him money to betray Caement. Casement laid a trap for the minister who produced a Foreign Office offer of thousands of US Dollars
and free passage to the USA. Casement arranged, successfully, to have Sir Edward
Grey exposed as promoter of assassination. British statesmanship had put the lights]
out all over Europe.
How more enlightened is Europe today and what has British Statesmanship contributed to the enlightenment?
To celebrate the 120th anniversary of the Entente Cordiale British Guardsmen mounted Guard over the Elysee Palace, and French Troops reciprocated at Buckingham Palace.
Poor, dumb President Macron and his associates don’t realise that the Brits reneged
on the Entente. France and Italy in 1918 expected shares of the naval loot. The
German Surface Fleet was snaffled by the Brits. escorted by the British Navy, calling
in at Edinburgh. A recent American PBS programme showed it progress. With it Britain would have the whole world in thrall. There was even speculation that the next war, which was expected soon would be between Britain and the USA for control of the planet.
The German Grand Fleet was conducted to the deep anchorage of Scapa Flow.
But the Germans scuttled that British trophy.
Britain tutored American Imperialism as I will reveal later.
