Today Pat and I are joined by Gabriel McCaffrey in Ottawa, Canada – originally from Belfast.
We discuss the dust-up in Dublin and. the Dail. Was Micheál Martin right to say that the opposition were flouting the constitution by not allowing him to be nominated Taoiseach? (That’s a rhetorical question, by the way.
And we consider D J Trump. Is our recoil from him more a matter of his private life (attitude to women, immigrants, other countries) or is it grounded in the fact that this man believes that God saved him from assassination so he could do something very important in the world?
Finally, after more than thirty years, does Gabriel feel at. home in a country where the temperature right now is some 20 degrees below zero??
Dive right in, as they say….
