aThe same man in his inaugural speech proclaimed from his bullet-proof lectern that he was going to overthrow the establishment…while the three richest men in the world looked on, smiling from ear to ear at the fact they now have so much power. Can anyone say Oligarchy? Only days before Trump’s inauguration, Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of META, laid his cards squarely on the table by claiming Facebook would now use “Community Notes” to fact-check posts rather than a dedicated team of fact-checkers, aiming to gain favour with the returning President who claims he supports free speech yet labels any and all facts contrary to what he believes as “Fake News”.
While he may have signed Executive Orders for this and that in front of a crowd frothing at the mouth for anything that could hurt any or all of America’s allies, one thing that slipped past most, was that while Trump called a national emergency on the Southern border of North America, he also quietly turned off an immigration app used by those legally attempting to enter the USA via legal means, y’know, the people Trump claims are just fine to enter. In doing so 30,000 interviews and applications were instantly cancelled over the coming week. It seems now Trump doesn’t even want legal immigration even though he claimed otherwise in his inaugural speech.
What is more concerning to any right-thinking individual is the fact that Trump has signed Presidential pardons for 1500 of those insurrectionists who stormed the Capitol on January 6th 2020. One of that number is none other than the former Proud Boys leader, Enrique Tarrio with another prominent far-right leader of the Oath Keepers, Stewart Rhodes. Those inside the Capitol on that day were forced to barricade themselves in offices or were evacuated while some of the mob went looking for Nancy Pelosi specifically with one Jan Bancroft claiming she was going to shoot her. Even while the attack was ongoing, Trump refused to call in the National Guard to quell the violence. A week after the attack, the House of Representatives voted to impeach Trump. To date, Trump is the only US President to have been impeached twice. The first, ironically was ‘Abuse of Power and Obstruction of Congress’ and the second ‘Incitement of Insurrection’.
While Trump was bad enough, proclaiming he was spared by God himself to make America great again (rolls eyes), when Elon Musk took to the lectern he finished with what many are claiming was a Sieg Heil salute, not once but twice. Researching and reading various sources threw up the fact that Musk’s grandparents on his mother’s side were members of none other than the Nazi Party of Canada, wholly supported Hitler, and moved to South Africa because they supported aparthied. This is the guy who has overwhelming power in the US government, has hundreds of billions of dollars at his disposal…and is throwing up Nazi salutes? At a US Presidential inauguration? The same US which claims to be Israel’s biggest ally?
While Trump’s speeches were predictable, after all he’s been spouting bile for months, the man has no grace or grandeur about him, no humility. It’s all ego, all bluster, and everything is about him. The fact that he was so very critical about the previous administration, going all in on insults while being absolutely ignorant of his own train wreck of an administration…and then calling himself the “great unifier” shows a man who is in the job for himself, not for America, not for the people, but him.
Thankfully, we only have to endure one more term of this blustering buffoon before he can no longer stand in a Presidential race. We’ll be lucky to get out of this alive as a race.
His grandfather was with the Social Credit party in Canada, I don’t think that’s the same thing as the Nazi party.
