Will the Lebanese Army become the new Palestinian Authority?
I ask this question in good faith as we witness the appointment of the head of the Lebanese army as the 14th President of Lebanon.
The Lebanese army is ranked 118 out of 125 counties listed, with 73,000 volunteers, 70,000 in the Army 1,500 in the Navy and 1,500 in the Air force
The Lebanese army has only limited outdated equipment. No fighter jets and relies on helicopters as its main source of aerial defence. It has no modern anti-aircraft capabilities, and just a few tanks.
It is in effect ineffectual and unprepared for the role now assigned to it as the defenders of Lebanese national sovereignty, tasked with the defence of Lebanon’s people and its defined international borders.
Israel on the other hand ,as of 2023 has 130,000 troops, 30,000 in the air force, 10,000 in its navy and 300,000 to 400,000 reserves as published in a news week article.
Israel’s military budget in 2024 is $20.4 billion, while Lebanon’s military budget is $995 million according to Global Firepower.
So there you have it . We are being told that the Lebanese army will take over the role of Lebanese security from Hezbollah and other resistance groups in Lebanon, and that they will prevent future Israeli incursions into Lebanese territory. The fact that Israel has not yet fully removed itself from Southern Lebanon seems to be a footnote to the propaganda being propagated by the west.
Israel could not get a foothold militarily in Lebanon because of the steadfast resistance led by Hezbollah and others.
Israel failed miserably in its attempt to occupy Lebanon up to the Litany river. They wanted to reoccupy all of Southern Lebanon, as they did prior to being forced to withdraw in 2006 under heavy Hezbollah attack.
Southern Lebanon was liberated in 2006.
Israel is now politically trying to accomplish that which it could not do militarily, that is to silence the guns of Hezbollah and nullify the resistance.
To this end the 60-day ceasefire now in place between Lebanon and Israel is central to its forward-thinking strategy which was promoted and sold to the Lebanese Parliament and people by none other than the USA France and Israel
The idea was to remove the resistance from Southern Lebanon ,its only real defence against Israeli aggression, and replace it with a toothless paper tiger that is the Lebanese army.
No Hezbollah, no resistance.
Phase two was to get a compliant Lebanese government and or President as a defacto western Israeli asset in order to manoeuvre Lebanon further into the control of America France Saudi Arabia Britain and Israel as a client state.
The elections became an imperative not for the Lebanese government but by those who wish to corrupt, control, manipulate and direct internal and external Lebanese policy.
The Lebanese army is funded overwhelmingly by the American administration.
Nearly all of its poultry military equipment is American, and it has American military trainers in its ranks.
If this does not constitute partisan meddling in the internal dynamics of the Lebanese state, then I for the life of me do not know what does.
America, which currently funds Israel to the tune of $3.8 billion annually, and that’s before we count war aid provided since 2023. Now intends to divert $100 from its military aid to Egypt supplied to their man in Cairo , Sisi to bolster the capabilities of the Lebanese army.
It’s a joke for sure, this minimal investment will not prepare the Lebanese army with the necessary firepower to resist Israeli aggression. In fact, that is not the objective.
The real objective is to arm the Lebanese army as a bolster against the Lebanese resistance.
To further corrupt the army and to grease the hands of those most ready to do the bidding of America, Israel and the Saudi regime.
While Lebanon left behind the sectarian divisions that led to a brutal and crushing civil war in the 1980’s fomented by its enemies America France Britain and Israel, those dark days still haunt Lebanese current political thinking and Lebanese society in general.
No one wants to return to those dark days.
The election of Joseph Aoun, while endorsed by the Lebanese government to include Lebanese resistance leaders, will hopefully not prove to be a Trojan horse.
My concern is that America, Israel and others are not finished with their aspirational designs on Lebanon.
American sanctions are currently destroying the Lebanese economy.
Removing the resistance from Southern Lebanon is the first step to leaving Southern Lebanon defenceless.
The second step is to elect a compliant asset to manipulate Lebanese governmental policy in favour of western and Israeli objectives for the region.
The third step is to empower the Lebanese army to defend Lebanon not from Israeli aggression but to limit the actions of the resistance in defending Lebanon.
The Palestinian Authority is a bought and paid asset of America.
It pays many of the salaries of the PA autocracy and the day to day running costs of the unelected feudal empire Abbas presides over.
Whoever pays the piper calls the tunes. Are we witnessing the co-opting of the Lebanese army into the axis of evil, will we see it tell the resistance to disarm, disband and stand down.
This might seem far-fetched but remember politics is a long game and the axis of evil never sleeps as it destroys sovereign nations, murders hundreds of thousands in its proxy wars such as Ukraine and constantly manoeuvres to undermine its opponents and put into power its compromised puppets ,all working for the man in the White House.
Imperialism is the root cause of all the evil in the world today.
