Unlike the Prince of Denmark I am not of a melancholic disposition.
But I do tire of the of quantity and quality of shite that passes for information, learning, and wisdom in print and other media. I realise that horse manure is useful for agriculture and horticulture, but I do prefer cream with my strawberries.
Horse manure and bulls’ droppings masquerading as high culture in schools, universities, learned journals, and religious columns in newspapers of record do not profit the common weal, though shed loads of it may be exchanged for shed loads of money, honours and titles in a whores’ market.
Cashing in on the Centenary of the 1916 Rising is a huge industry. For example, the University of Limerick is hosting an event “In The Name of Future Generations” featuring amongst its star attractions Fergal Keane.
On 2 November 2015 “SOME THOUGHTS ON FERGAL KEANE, OBE” by myself were posted as a Guest Blog by Jude Collins. They demolish many of his assertions and comment on his opinions. More recently another of my BLOGS – “Full Fathom Five Son, Full Fathom FIve” had a dig at Keane.
I don’t ask anyone to accept my refutations of Keane’s “facts” or criticism of his opinions without checking them against available evidence. But I have repeatedly had my comments published in various papers over many years and nobody reading them has sprung to Keane’s defence.
Keane has published shed loads of shite and keeps recycling it.
