Sometimes, even though you know it’s been talked about and analysed from every angle, an issue is so big and so important, you cannot pass it by. That’s what’s happened this week. The appalling death of George Floyd created such a wave of revulsion throughout the world, it was impossible not to discuss it.
Probably every newspaper in the world dealt with Floyd’s death. Pat and I decided to look specifically at the op-ed. by Paul Krugman, a columnist with the New York Times. If you haven’t read him, give yourself a treat and read him – he deals with current issue in a clear, reality-rooted way that is very impressive. In his article he combines commentary on the death of Floyd with comment on Trump. It was a short article but it contained a great deal of issues. We’ve tried to deal with what we thought were the most important.
