“A POOR THING, BUT MINE OWN” BLOG-U-LIKE? by Donal Kennedy

I don’t know whether my current plight should be compared or contrasted with that of Touchstone, from whom I have taken the quotation. I have been under lockdown in a comfortable  suburban house in a once Imperial capital these past thirteen weeks, warm and dry whilst the rain is pelting down outside. Touchstone  had been displaced, together with the Court he served, to make do as he could, either under the canopy of Heaven, or shelter in the trees in the Forest of Arden.

So my plight might differ from his and I leave it to you to decide how our stations in life may compare. For Touchstone was., by profession, a Fool. But he made the best of his situation, wooing  and winning a plain and grateful wench, Audrey, and arranged for a “wedding” before an unordained Parson.

I’ve been a bit stir-crazy under lock-down forgetting, often not knowing the day of the week, nor whether ideas I have were written or published, and mine own satisfaction required me to compile an index of blogs I’ve had published during the current year. If you’ve been irked or wowed by anything I’ve seen, it’s fair to give you the chance to compare it those that might wow or irk you. This is the first instalment.
