As we all struggle through mid-January, Pat and I put our heads together and consider the damage done by Trump and the damage that must be undone by Biden. Has Trump really gone away? Will the Republican party be able to reform itself?
Then there is the question of examinations that won’t happen – Leaving Cert, A and AS Level. Is the problem getting pupils back to school, or are there deeper problems that educationalists need to confront?
And finally – what else? – Brexit. The present chaos with form-filling and what products can and cannot come into port, where fishing boats can dock – is all that just too much for some businesses? Is there any way they can get back to seamless trading?
