PAT + JUDE TALK ABOUT THAT LETTER TO BOJO, PEOPLE WHO REFUSE TO BE VACCINATED, AND THE OSCARS …

That letter which has been signed by many worthies – Peter Hain, Peter Mandelson, Paul Murphy, Hugh Orde among others – and which urges Boris Johnson to get more involved with the affairs of our own dear stateen: is it important?  In it they urge Johnson “to be honest” with loyalists/unionists about the Protocol. But wouldn’t that be asking for trouble?

The vaccine: some people are refusing to take it. Should we allow them that choice, in the name of civil liberties? Or should it be compulsory, in the name of national health?

And finally the Oscars –  are they just an innocent knees-up for the stars and a guide to us as to what movies are worth seeing? Or are they self-congratulatory and embarrassing, and incapable of knowing  which movies are really good?  After all, Reservoir Dogs didn’t get an Oscar.
