That worked for me Jude. It’s the coherent kind of conversation that we should be seeing on telly but never do.I have to say that although i didn’t agree with everything John said , i have a lot of time for his well- weighted opinions and unionism would be in a better place if there were more like him running the show. That said , he appears to be the aberration , rather than the norm. one question i thought you might have asked him was …Could he not see himself fitting into a party like Alliance, and if not , why? I’d have like to have heard his views on that .

That was a great interview. I like John McCallister and it is hard to argue with his views. However the constitutional possition makes this place unworkable. It would be much better if people from the North could opt out of the Union and choose to be fully fledged citizens of the Irish Republic while still living in the North. People working in the South while living in the North already do this to an extent.

Time well spent. I would like to hear him develop his views on Scottish and Irish Independence and subject same to more scrutiny. Interesting use of the word torpedo on a periscope interview!!

Good stuff Jude,he seems a reasonable fella much like many of my protestant neighbours here in the ‘free state’
I’ve discovered a new term today for the six counties as we sometimes refer to them, the ‘sick’ counties seems a better name,
listening to John,it makes no sense to me what SF are up to with this welfare bill, Stormont is a joke anyway,a government without opposition and only accountable to a tribal set of voters with electoral pacts.
I’m glad I live on this side of the sheugh anyway, bad and all as it is.
