Last year the Vietnamese staged a military parade celebrating forty years since they liberated themselves from foreign aggression.
It was a parade, not a coat-trailing, sabre-rattling exercise like NATO’s provocative manoeuvres on Russia’s borders, which Germany’s
Foreign Minister, alone among western statesmen or women, recently denounced. What, you may ask, has Ireland’s Foreign Minister,
Charlie Flanagan,or Taoiseach Enda Kenny to say about such carryings-on?. You’ll recall Enda’s story of Lenin, whilst Russia was in
the throes of Revolution and Civil War ,slipping into Ireland like Red Pimpernel for a lesson on Economics from the equally busy Michael
Collins. Perhaps if Vladimir Putin can’t go to Dublin or Mayo, Enda could slip over to Moscow for a word with Vladimir Putin? I’m convinced
that, Brexit or no Brexit, Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump in the White House, America intends to crush Russia, as Britain determined to
crush Germany long before the First World War,this time with even more disastrous results for life on this planet. And those who know me
and are not liars will attest to the fact that I’m an optimist.
THE TIMES headline said the Vietnamese were commemorating America’s Blackest Day. When the Americans celebrate the Fourth
of July does the paper say they are celebrating England’s Blackest Day?. When the Americans revolted was England poisoning her
forests with chemicals, napalming her children, raping all round them and practising every evil a million Satans would be hard-pressed
to invent?
The Vietnamese have, in my lifetime, resisted Invasion by the Japanese, who on their surrender to Lord Mountbatten in 1945 were
told to hold onto their weapons until they could hand the country back to the French. The Vietnamese then resisted, overcame
and decisively whipped the French Imperialists (as cruel and murderous a collection ever spawned by devils) before resisting and
breaking the will of the most over-armed, heartless and numbskulled warmongers the world has seen. And then the Vietnamese
liberated Cambodia from the Khymer Rouge and repelled an invasion by China.
But THE TIMES perhaps thinks that Vietnam invaded America.
I don’t normally watch the BBC’s Parliamentary Channel but yesterday saw part of a programme from the Irish Embassy in
London on the 1916 Battle of the Somme.
The Ambassador, Dan Mulhall, was hosting a large number of Chelsea Pensioners, none of them veterans of that Battle or of the
Great War. They would have been veterans of other conflicts. Perhaps that in Malaya, officially described as AN EMERGENCY
to save rubber planters the Insurance Premiums they would have had to pay if it had been honestly labelled as a war. Who called
the English a Nation of Shopkeepers? Some of the Pensioners may be veterans of the uneven-handed
unpleasantness in Kenya, also described as AN EMERGENCY. Or the one in Cyprus, similarly described. Or of undeclared,
unreported, and never acknowledged conflicts or violence against non-combatants. Perhaps His Excellency has the answers.
But is maintaining a diplomatic silence?
Excellent article. Do you really think the Americans are stupid enough to try and “crush” Russia?!!! How do you see them doing that, and how far are they prepared to go? The Russians on an individual basis are a tough crowd as witnessed by their disciplined /organised non-drinking soccer hooligans. As a nation they’re more than a match for the US.
We have seen how irresponsible the US was in Afghanistan, arming Islamist zealots against the Russians, zealots who became Al Quada. Trampling through the Middle East like a bull
in a China Shop, smashing up the Iraq state (not just Saddam Hussein’s regime) just as the
British and French smashed Germany after the First World War and leaving the country in
chaos, Libya, which under Gaddafi was very wealthy and whose people had a good standard
of living was smashed and in chaos. The US and Britain arm the barbarous Saudis who
are smashing up Yemen, support the worst excesses of the Zionists, and the two-faced
Turkish regime, and have turned large parts of the world into a living hell, with people
trying to swim across the Mediterranean and the English Channel in fear of their lives.
It’s to assert the unchallengable hegemony of the USA to the advantage of a tiny
cabal of zillionaires, who don’t regard it as crazy at all.
I’m told that the American death toll of 60,000 in Vietnam did not include the sons of Senators,, Congressmen or State Governors. I may have been misinformed. You do
the checking.
