“I know I promised some nature photos this week after the USAF photos of last week so five out of six are of the beauty of nature that surrounds us and the sixth is of another US military jet using our island as a stopover. Happy Saturday.”

” Pic 6: This Standard 8, belonging to a local artist, is parked in Culross, Fife. Culross is a very old village on the Forth with many conserved properties in the hands of the National Trust. I can vaguely remember occasional motors like this on the streets of Derry in my childhood years. My knowledge of cars is fairly limited and had to be told that it was a Standard 8 when I pointed out the old ‘Ford’ to my wife.
Pic 7: We spent a couple of days in Donegal recently. This car, driven by an elderly lady, emerged in front of us from a side street in Gortahork. It proceeded very slowly along , indicated right, then turned left into the car park at McClafferty’s supermarket and was parked safely like this. Comforting to know that some things don’t change in Ireland. I was minded of the Healey-Rae arguments proposing relaxation of the drink driving legislation in rural areas.
Pic 8: We live beside Bluebell Wood in the foothills of the Ochils. Together with the yellow gorse, it makes for a very attractive landscape at this time of year.”
