At 6.11 pm on Sunday August 16 a twitter storm was unleashed.
#Week8 #RememberMyNoah
As Fiona Donohoe, the friends and family of Noah Donohoe continue to demand answers from the Police Service of Northern Ireland, the Department of Justice and The Ombudsman office, we together as a community must call out loud and clear ‘I remember Noah!’
We must call out to demand truth with justice, into the disappearance of young Noah, a promising young man with a life to live, a life to enjoy, a life to build and a life to give. We must all demand the answers his family and friends are so desperately seeking.
Justice delayed is justice denied.
The only developments to date are not encouraging.
While a wall of silence in the media and in the Department of Justice of which the Police Service of Northern Ireland is just one piece, prevails, and while the resolution of the tragic circumstances into the disappearance and death of young Noah remain unsolved, there will be no closure for the family and continued speculation from the community as to what really happened.
For a Police service in the 21 st century to so publicly fail a grieving mother and an entire community is unthinkable .
For their apparent lack of empathy, disconnect and contempt for the Donohoe family’s continued suffering and grief, we can only watch in wonder. Is the display by the police, as seen on TV at Police press conferences, only for show?/
They appear to offer little comfort to the family by way of providing information and answers to many of their ongoing questions.
If the Police were fully transparent with the family why would they feel the need to instruct legal counsel to seek the truth around the veracity of Police actions and Police statements?
The only development in this case appears to be the potential prosecution of an individual who had possession of Noah’s bag.
Is this simply a diversion? A reaction by Police to the growing demands not just from Noah Donohoe’s family but from all us, to have the truth ? A stalling tactic?
Are they throwing a bone to the dogs to appease them?
Do they think this will satisfy the crowd?
We must have full disclosure.
Who is protected by the lack of clarity, the obfuscation of the Police ? Certainly not the family . Certainly not society.
There are official pages on both Facebook and twitter endorsed by Fiona Donohoe, Noah’s grieving mother.
One had been reported and removed by Twitter.
Who would do that?
Who would deny a family justice?
Who benefits in the obfuscation of the truth?
I am not aware of an official campaign ‘Justice for Noah’ but if there is one , I would humbly suggest some actions that might be considered.
A ‘Noah’s Life Matters’ rally outside Musgrave PSNI Station in Victoria Street .
As the base from which the Police issued their press statements let us use that site to ask our questions.
I would suggest speakers such as the Stephen Lawrence family be invited to address the protest.
A second rally at the offices of the Justice Department and Minister Long.
A third rally at her constituency office.
A rally at Stormont demanding accountability and action from our elected representatives. What have they done so far and what more can they do ?
A rally at the’ Dail ‘demanding ‘Justice for Noah’
A petition delivered by the family if possible to 10 Downing Street led by the North Belfast and South Belfast MPs.
All these protests could have ‘Noah’s Life Matters’ and ‘Justice for Noah’ as the central theme .
I have written this because I have been moved by the continuing strength and dignity of Fiona Donohoe, as she proclaims ‘Do not be afraid to mention my son’s name’.
We are not afraid, Fiona. We are with you.
‘Noah’s Life Matters’.
