PAT + JUDE TALK ABOUT SHARED ISLAND , LEGACY BETRAYED, CORPORATION TAX, & MODERN ART: IS IT A JOKE?

Michéal Martin is calling for academics north and south to draw on the huge pot of money he has as part of his Shared Island project. There’ll be as much as €100,000 for individual academics to link north and south, and €1 million for research groups north and south to work together. Question: is this a good use of taxpayers’ money?

The people of Derry who have been fighting for decades got a serious set-back on Friday: Soldier F and Soldier B will not be prosecuted. Should they simply accept it, or try to fight on for justice after all these years?

There is an international drive to set corporation tax at 15%. The south of Ireland has its rate at 12.5%. What will happen if it’s raised to 15%? Will Apple and Co pack their bags and leave, taking all those jobs with them?

Finally, are you into modern art? Pat and I confess ourselves totally ignorant. So why weren’t we taught something about art in school, so we could decide if Tracey Emin’s Unmade Bed is a work of art or Tracey having a laugh?

There’s not another podcast with our kind of range. Enjoy. And tell your friends….
