The newspapers today are full of talk about the ‘Pandora papers’: documentation of how the rich and super-rich manage to squirrel away their wealth and not tell the rest of us. Disgusting,eh? Except, when’s the last time you told people how much you earn, be that much or little?
The good Lord Frost has told the Tory Party Conference that the EU needn’t think that the UK will ‘wait for ever’ to have the Protocol problem fixed. Is this just Frost doing the alpha male thing, beating his chest so Tory party members will think he’s really made of the right stuff? And is Jeffrey Donaldson right to say he’s the one who has forced concentration on this problem/issue?
Boris Johnson has been emphatic on how disgusting was the abduction, rape and killing of Sarah Everard. A delegation from our stateen is heading for Westminster later this month to lobby against British government plans to have a general amnesty on anything that happened in our stateen before 1998. What are their chances of success?
Finally, Slaintecare: three leading members of the committee that’s guiding it have resigned. But they haven’t explained exactly why, other than that they’re unhappy with the way things are going. Are there vested interests at work? And if there are, why doesn’t some one get specific and say who they are?
All this and so, so much more…
