Regular readers of my BLOG will have detected mistakes which have eluded myself before I send them to Jude.
I don’t know how to install OFFICE and because of the pandemic cannot invite anyone who knows how into the house.
When I try to correct a draft I occasionally erase a key phrase.
I’m tempted to blame MI5, and other alien cyber warriors not to mention Quisling elements in Ireland.
But I try to avoid paranoia.
Anyhow I made a mess in my blog about HISTORY TODAY and the KING’S OWN S.O.B.s
My piece on the KING’S OWN SCOTTISH BORDERS arose from an article in HISTORY TODAY which appeared in 2012.
The article celebrated an engagement with the IRA – THE DERRYARD ATTACK where OUR BOYS were worsted the SOBS.
So proud were the SOBS that they commissioned a painting of the engagement which was reproduced in HISTORY IRELAND.
I speculated on whether the SOBS had a painting celebrating their engagement with unarmed Dubliners on July 26 1914.
The SOBS won that engagement too, discharging their rifles at people unable to defend themselves.
It has just occurred to me that the SOBS have a website where you and I can check.
There is a Website – OPERATION BANNNER where amongst other Regiments you will fund the PARACHUTE REGIMENT and some of the gentlemen holding ORDERS OF CHIVALRY for their work in DERRY 50 years ago.
