Goodbye Mary Lou, you disappoint me.
It has become clear that NATO has been arming and training the American hand- picked regime in Ukraine for many years in order to ruin Russia economically, and rob her vast mineral and agricultural wealth, if not obliterate the country with nuclear bombs.
(During the Cold War the United States intended, if war broke out with the Soviet Union, to NUKE both it and China. A Commandant of the Marine Corps, profiled in a TIME MAGAZINE cover-story, persuaded his Government to drop that lunatic policy)
Yet the ladies and gentlemen leading Irish political parties, the Irish Congress of Trade Unions and other bodies are acting like a Lynch mob.
A British Ambassador,Sir Andrew Gilchrist, a veteran cloak and dagger cutthroat, who was instrumental in organising genocide in Indonesia (1965) and later organised the British takeover of the “IRISH” TIMES had an easy ride in Dublin.
But the Ambassador of Russia who has shown respect and understanding of our country and its concerns has been treated as if he and his compatriots were our enemies.
Our compatriots Roger Casement, James Connolly, Eamon de Valera and Frank Aiken served Ireland and humanity by clear thinking on international affairs. Casement was murdered for his efforts, as was Connolly. De Valera and Aiken took up arms when they were appropriate, and devoted many decades in the pursuit of peace at home and abroad.
But, with the exception of Michael D Higgins and the President of Germany,( perhaps the only Adult Heads of State in Western Europe) everybody seems to be in thrall to an American President (who called a journalist who asked him a reasonable question a Son of a Bitch) and his puppet Ukrainian President who calls on Greeks to fight Turks,
Is Mary Lou going to bear arms for Ukraine? Is she going to hunger-strike outside the Russian Embassy in Dublin? Will she stage a no-wash protest like the Clowning American puppet in Kiev?
