THE IRISH TIMES: AN ATROCITY OR A JOKE – by Donal Kennedy

I’m an admirer of many things English, including my spouse and most of her compatriots.

Trial by jury, where the accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty, is a debt we all owe  England

We also owe THE IRISH TIMES TRUST to England. The paper is no admirer of trial by jury.

It prefers Lynch Law and accepts without examination the stories of Russian atrocities in Ukraine.

It has never accepted an Irish jury’s refusal to buy the ludicrous story given it in the trial of Captain Kelly and others in 1970.

Falsely accusing judges and politicians of breaking the  anti-Covid regulations has inflicted great damage on Ireland and a disservice on Europe.

On a happier note, Michael McDowell, the failed leader of a failed party, is always good for a laugh.

In today’s IRISH TIMES Michael  warns China about its refusal to gang up with “the West” against Russia.

No doubt the leaders of the most successful country that ever yet was seen are sinking in their sampans from this bleat  from Skibbereen?
