A letter in THE IRISH TIMES today (June 7) from Dr Shane O’Rourke, of the ” Department of History, University of York, UK” cries out for the attention of all thinking people.
Dr. O’Rourke is opposed to any compromise to settle the unpleasantness in Ukraine.
He says “We should support Ukrainian people prepared to fight for the Donbas.” But he leaves open the question whether he is willing to hazard his own neck or his ass in the Bearna Baol. i
The Doctor, a self-declared enemy of Imperialism is a disciple of “The American diplomat, politician and scholar Zbigniew Brzezinski” whom he quotes:-
“Without Ukraine Russia ceases to be an empire, but with Ukraine suborned and subordinated, Russia automatically becomes an empire.”
BRZEZINSKI’S contribution to diplomacy, politics and scholarship can be accessed easily on the net. No contribution to peace is given. He died in 2017 apparently proud of his achievements.
