Winston Churchill said more than his prayers. But those who worship, or pretend to worship at his shrine, would have us believe that every burp he made was Holy Writ. Much of his output, when sober were damnable lies, and lots more was gibberish.
The quotation above (without the question mark) comes from October 1939 when Churchill was First Lord of the Admiralty in the Cabinet led by Neville Chamberlain.
On 23rd August 1939 the newly-appointed Soviet Foreign Minister Molotov had signed a non-aggression pact with the Nazi Foreign Minister Ribbentrop and that pact has been declared by the EU as the root of the Second World War.
The British had declared war on Germany in September 1939 following Germany’s invasion of Poland, but never lifted a finger to help Poland. Chamberlain had flown to Munich in 1938 and betrayed Czechoslovakia, and Poland had annexed that part of Czechoslovakia not seized by the Nazis. The Soviets, who together with France during its Popular Front Government had formed an Alliance with Czechoslovakia, had aircraft on the ground in Czechoslovakia and troops ready to and able to defeat any German incursion. These troops were, at the last moment, asked to leave by the Czech Government, after Chamberlain, without deigning to meet with the Czechs, ordered its Government to cede the Sudetenland to Hitler. The Czech Government ordered the Soviets, who had proven themselves trustworthy allies to remove their planes.
The Poles who had signed a Pact with Hitler in 1934 refused access through Polish territory to Soviet troops ready to save Czechoslovakia. Hitler swallowed the whole country up a few months later. Stalin believed with good reason that Britain wanted the Nazis to attack the Soviet Union.
Stalin dismissed his Foreign Minister, Litvinov, a long time champion of a Soviet French and British alliance against the Nazis and appointed Molotov.. The Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact was a logical outcome of British treachery.
Anyhow the Soviets had no reason to trust British statesmen. Come to think of it who, anywhere, has ever had reason to trust them?
Russia today should not be a riddle, a mystery nor an enigma to you. Not if you care to read on.
Russia has repeatedly been attacked from the West and has repeatedly, by its own efforts repelled the invaders. In 1945 it liberated countries which had embraced Fascism and it would have had an unchallenged progress to Calais had not the Americans twisted British arms to join them in the attack on Normandy in 1944.
Since the collapse of the Warsaw Pact and the Soviet withdrawal from the countries it had liberated, Gobachev, Yeltsin and Putin sought to an accommodation with all Russia’s neighbours that would allow them all to live in peace and security.
Putin repeatedly spoke or wrote on these matters, and on the wars fought by the USA, Britain and other “Free World Democracies” in violation of the United Nations Charter, and costing millions of human lives. For months now the West has suppressed Russian and other outlets which run counter to anti-Russian narratives, many of which are manifest lies.
Putin gave a speech some time ago, speaking of some of the crazier ideas embraced by some Blolsheviks in 1917, which would abolish such institutions as the family. He compared them with some of the fashionable nonsense embraced today in the West, where a human equipped with testicles and penis may declare itself female, and expect to use a female toilet without the consent of its usual patrons.
I don’t know whether Putin wrote his own script, but it seemed to me lifted from the works of Edmund Burke and unassailable for its common sense.
But it was quoted in THE TIMES as an attack on Liberal values.
There existed some years ago an “Information Research Department” of the British Foreign Office, the largest sub-division of that august institution.
Numbering from 380 to 600 odd persons at one time, it was a similar or identical to the propaganda outfit run by the Brits in Dublin Castle in 1920, and its outstanding victories included the genocidal coup in 1965 in Indonesia and the creation of THE IRISH TIMES TRUST in 1970.
Suborning countries’ public servants and subordinating their citizens to British Establishment schemes are the business of the Foreign Office and the War Office . The US State Department and CIA are disciples of the British and no less obnoxious.
You may check Wikipedia for the INFORMATION RESEARCH DEPARTMENT and for that matter the MOD’s “FORCE DEVELOPMENT UNIT”, which remove the veil from Perfidious Albion’s knavish trickery.
