Subject: LEGITIMATE RESEARCH AND ILLEGITIMATE CLAIMS
The Irish and Russian nations have long histories and have never done each other a mischief.
If Russia were to claim Rockall, an uninhabited and uninhabitable rock whose nearest inhabited neighbouris Ireland, we would have a justifiable grievance against Russia.
If Russia had ever occupied or misappropriated Irish land, pauperised and starved and slaughtered its people, it would be natural for the remaining Irish to fear Russia and make common cause with Russia’s enemies.
We Irish have no reason to fear Russia, whose ambassador has so respected the apprehensions Irish fishermen voiced about legitimate Russian exercises in INTERNATIONAL WATERS that he had them discontinued in the area they were concerned with.
Legitimate research into the anti-Russian quarrel directed from the USA in which Western Europe is a puppet and Ukraine a pawn is sorely needed.
IRELAND, at the League of Nations and later the United Nations, played key roles in defending international justice and promoting world peace.
When the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty got its first signature in 1968, it was that of Frank Aiken, in Moscow, at the invitation of the Soviet Union. Aiken was its architect and he had worked on it for ten years. Back in 1958 the Soviets proposed the destruction of ALL nuclear weapons. The USA did not then, nor ever renounce holding them, and the non-proliferation treaty was a compromise, which most nations have signed up to. The UKRAINE
Regime in February this year made clear its intention to have nuclear weapons on its territory, the last of the many provocations it has given the Russians in the past 8 years at least.
An examination of the above paragraph would be legitimate research.
