The Dublin government is not having a happy new year. There’s all the problems with inflation and cost of living. There’s also the question of Ministers in the government having to resign over rule-breaking: Damien English ‘incorrectly’ completed a planning application, and now Pascal Donohoe is under heavy fire for his relationship with one Michael Stone (no, not the loyalist murderer, this is a southern businessman) who has bought a lot of raffle tickets for Pascal’s party, has helped with the putting up of posters and the like. There are relatively small sums of money involved but Pascal is going to have to face the wrath of the Opposition on Tuesday in the Dail.
Oh, I forgot – we ran our slide-rule over Jim Allister and I’m afraid we found his contribution to electoral peace and cooperation wanting. Whodathunk it?
