This morning, a large section of the Nolan Show was devoted to the Wolfe Tones’ Feile concert in West Belfast, and the fact that they sang along with the audience the words “Ooh, aah, up the ‘RA!” Was Nolan right to say that this was to show contempt for IRA victims like Colin Parry’s son? And was there a reason why the programme didn’t – as far as I know – mention that at the weekend, a Derry businessman who was out cleaning up near his shop where Apprentice Boys marchers had urinated, was kicked in the head?
Tomorrow is the anniversary of the Omagh bomb. The loss of life and the list of injuries was hellish. But is there anything else one can say about the event, without being accused of supporting the Real IRA?
John Taylor and some other unionists, including Sammy Wilson, are getting very tired of southern politicians sticking their noses into the business of NEI, and they believe the BBC shouldn’t be giving as much coverage to GAA games. Is there any validity in their complaint?
This is the not-too-long-not-too-short show. Tell us what you think.
