It’s just possible you’ve noticed how the airwaves and media generally have been dominated by events in the Middle East. So can Hamas’s actions in Israel be justified? How about the reporting of the situation – has it been truthful about the context of events as well as the events themselves? And why are the EU, the UK and the US declaring they are 100% behind Israel, even as Israel cuts off food, water, electricity in the Gaza strip, and prepares for a ground invasion?
Our sole other topic brings suffering and death down to a personal level. There’s talk in the south of making ‘assisted dying’ legal. Is that an act of mercy that should be passed into law? Or are there dangers that more and more cases may be brought under the ‘assisted dying’ banner?
And as our title promises – you won’t be depressed at the end. And if you are, it’s McArt’s fault…
