Maybe you’ve noticed – when someone on TV defends the rights of the Palestinians, they’re frequently confronted with the rejoinder “So you support Hamas, then…” It’s a bit like being critical of the British army here – the assumption then was that you were a Provo-lover.
That rugby game – it’d make you weep. In fact it did make several of the Ireland players weep. Why do our sure things so often end in tears? Does defeat sniff out our insecurity?
Then there’s soccer players – Pep Guardiola has an eye on Tony Kroos, who’s in his early thirties. Would he be a good investment, given his age? Should so much paid for players and so much paid to players?
