Dear God!
THE IRISH TIMES published letters trashing its advice to the people of Ireland.
Is this a record?
Nearly 5 years before the people enacted our Constitution, on the advice of De Valera, and ignored that paper’s warning (in February 1933 ) that a return of
Fianna Fail to power would result in tears and the gnashing of teeth.
The following month (March 1933) the Editorial “HERR HITLER’S WAY” exulted
in that gentleman’s accession to power in Germany, relishing particularly how he dealt with the Left, and used the thuggish justification that one cannot make an omelette without breaking eggs.
Ninety one years later the Irish people are still not rushing to buy Irish Times
omelettes.
What a shame!
