Addressing Dail Eireann in 1963 JFK quoted a speech by Lloyd George which I recognised at the time and wondered why it didn’t provoke a near riot.
For Lloyd George had given great praise to the small, I think “five foot four nation” of Belgium.
Belgium is not a nation, but a state established by Britain to serve her imperial interests.
There are two “Belgian” Consulates in London. One for French-speaking “Walloons” and
one for Flemish speakers. One radio station in English speaks for the Walloons, and another for the Flemings. There is little intercourse of any description between the two communities.
The chief Flemish city is called, by its natives “BRUGGE” an anagram of “BUGGER”
To bugger things up the British refer to it in the French language as “BRUGES”.
Street signs are in Flemish only. Trains travelling between French-speaking BRUSSELS
and “Bruges” have signs in Flemish only and annoucements in Flemish only.
I’ve been to Brugge, alias “Bruges” twice and it is a very beautiful city, once at Easter
where Mass in the Cathedral was celebrated by the Cardinal Archbishop in Flemish.My
wife and I visited art museum, and noted, as we had earlier in Spain, paintings of the
Last Supper, where Christ and eleven of the Apostles had “Aryan” features and Judas
a pronounced beaked nose.
The last time I was there was at the time of the Coronation in London of King Charles.
In the “Belgian” Cathedral a Priest approached us, where, hearing us speak English, he
congratulated us on the London celebrations, to be told, by my wife, who is English, that
had left London in order to avoid them.
I understand that when Thomas Francis Meagher, in defence of the use of the sword
when necessary invoked some “Belgian” patriot, and that Patrick Pearse visited “Belgium” to explore the progress of Bilingualism but I’ll be damned if I can see any
evidence of either phenomenon.
I read today that Pope Francis is proposing the Beatification of King Baudouin of “the
Belgians” who described King Leopold, the monster exposed by Roger Casement, as
a civilsiser, when supposedly transferring power to the Congolese in 1960, and presided
over the murder of Patrice Lumumba a few months later.
The CIA under Allen Dulles and the the British Government under Harold MacMillan were involved in that escapade according to Conor Cruise O’Brien . Irish troops serving with the United Nations died in trying to sort out the Imperialist mess
The warfare states survive and are still against us , the human race.
