A classmate of mine in Rockwell from 1957 to 1959, Philip MacAllister, from Donabate
I had forgotten for 35 years, had joined the Holy Ghost Fathers and had laboured
heroically in Africa for decades before being martyred, with others in Sierra Leone in March 1994.
Philip had Gaelicised his name to Felim while the Holy Ghost Fathers had been rebranded as Spiritans accordingt to the Zeitgeist of Vatican II which de-Latinised
the liturgy.
Procedings in Dail Eireann on 24th March 1994 tell the story of the heroism of
Felim MacAllister and others murdered with him, from different countries.
Mt experience of the Holy Ghost Fathers was of individuals with various idiosyncrasies
but never of cruelty.
They have served humanity well. As have most Christian missionaries of whatever
denomination.
I will come back to this topic and CONFOUND THE BEGRUDGERS.
