Greta Thunberg and an MEP claim that they’ve been kidnapped – their ship with a meagre quantity of provisions for Palestine was stopped and is on its way to Israel. Can Israel do what it likes? And are we all helpless?
In the US, President Trump has sent in the National Guard, even the California’s Governor Gavin Newsom hasn’t asked for them. Demonstration has turned to violence, and Trump is even talking about sending in the Marines. Is this Trump biting off more than he can chew, or is it him gradually upping the stakes so that authoritarian actions in such places as Los Angeles will accustom people to an authoritarian state?
Grim stuff, but somebody has to tackle it. Join Pat and me. We’ll try to make sense of some of it at least…
