Netanyahu’s Legacy

Benjamin Netanyahu’s policy on Gaza is a brutal, unconscionable affront to humanity, international law, and the very concept of moral leadership. Under his direction, the Israeli government has unleashed a campaign of collective punishment against an already suffering civilian population, turning Gaza into a graveyard and a ruin. What we are witnessing is not the surgical targeting of Hamas militants—it is the systematic annihilation of homes, hospitals, schools, and entire communities. The death toll—tens of thousands of civilians, many of them children—is not a byproduct. It is the policy.

Netanyahu, a man long accustomed to impunity, has weaponized Israel’s military might to enforce siege tactics that starve, dehydrate, and suffocate innocent people. Gaza has been blockaded, bombed, and blacked out. Food, water, fuel, and medicine have been choked off deliberately—acts that meet the threshold of war crimes under the Geneva Conventions. These are not the choices of a democratic leader defending his people; these are the calculated strategies of a man determined to crush an entire population under the false banner of security.

Let’s be clear: Hamas bears responsibility for horrific violence. But Netanyahu’s response is not justice—it is vengeance. It is a campaign driven by political survival and extremist pandering, not a coherent strategy for peace. He has not only intensified the suffering of Palestinians, but also endangered Israeli citizens by perpetuating endless war, radicalizing a new generation, and eroding any hope of coexistence.

Netanyahu’s actions have shamed Israel on the world stage. His contempt for international law, human rights agencies, and even his own dissenting citizens is chilling. Journalists, medics, and aid workers have been killed in Gaza, and the world is expected to believe it’s all unfortunate collateral damage. The deliberate targeting of civilians, the use of starvation as a method of warfare, and the flattening of refugee camps are not mistakes—they are crimes.

History will not look kindly on Benjamin Netanyahu. His legacy will not be security or leadership—it will be mass suffering, isolation, and shame. His Gaza policy must be condemned unequivocally. No moral society can remain silent while this level of devastation is inflicted under the excuse of self-defence. Netanyahu is not defending Israel. He is destroying Gaza—and with it, any claim to moral authority.

Netanyahu’s response to the savagery of Hamas on October 7th reminds me of America after 911. The world was sympathetic following the huge loss of life inflicted on civilians. Like Bush and Chaney and Rumsfeld aided and abetted by useful idiot Blair, Israel has waged a vicious campaign against the general population of Gaza. Any sympathy has dissipated. Even stooges like Piers Morgan have stopped supporting Israel. Like Trump, Netanyahu is gambling on staying out of jail. Enough is enough. Israel has gone too far but Hamas must have known the consequences. They should have stayed home that morning.

If only it was Netanyahu, there are several million Israeli citizens who for decades have supported the annihilation of all things Palestinian. Zionism is a fanatical cult which can justify any barbarity in the cause of creating a Jewish only, homeland. The Holocaust is cynically exploited to justify Israel’s crimes and silence dissent, and US governments bankroll its military campaigns. How ironic that the pro Israel lobby in the US who are invariably hostile to any government support for their own disadvantaged citizens, spend billions propping up Israel where education and health care is provided for free. Gaza is a concentration camp and up the road people live in comfort and couldn’t care less. This genocide (which started many decades ago) has taken place in full view of the world. The Israelis are very open about their tactics, they may employ all kinds of mental gymnastics to defend their actions, but everyone knows what is going on. They are really quite brazen about it, and that is because with one or 2 notable exceptions, the Arab world and the non Arab world are busy looking the other way it’s absolutely shameful.
