Does Keir Starmer’s hypocrisy disqualify him from leading the Labour Party? Well, no and yes. There are Westminster politicians who might claim their hypocrisy is just as big and blatant as Starmer’s (remember B Johnson and that promise on the side of a bus?) but none of them really reach Starmer’s fake integriy.
Remember his relentless campaign against Jeremy Corbyn with its claims of anti-Semitism against a man who has again and again over the decades shown his willingness to stand by those denounced by the media (ask anyone in Sinn Féin). But Starmer has a track record of consistent hypocrisy.
For example, in July 2020 Starmer criticised Boris Johnson for breaching the Covid regulations. But on April 21 Starmer was filmed drinking beer at a Labour MP’s office in Durham, a clear breach of the regulations.
For example, Starmer, big on accountability, got no less than £100,000 worth in gifts of all kinds from a major donor.
For example, Starmer called for a minimum wage of at least £10 an hour, while workers a a Labour Pary conference were offered £9.75 per hour.
For example, he objected to the scrapping of a life-time pension allowance, on the grounds that it’d benefit the wealthy – while he himself was benefiting from being the recipient of a tax-unregistered pension scheme, going back to his time as Director of Public Prosecutions.
But all these pale by comparison to Starmer’s prosecution off those who say “Free Gaza” or “Israel is committing genocide.” Hundreds of British people – including a woman in Belfast – have been arrested for doing just that. And yet, Britain continues to send weapon parts to Israel so they can continue slaughter children, women and men. And while British police have been acting under his orders by arresting anyone who protests, Starmer hasn’t uttered a word or lifted a finger to arrest Benjamin Netanyahu, who is a war criminal of the vilest kind.
Maybe one day Starmer’s grandchildren will ask him “Grandpa, what did you do during the genocide in Gaza?” and Grandpa Keir will smile and tell them how he shipped weapons to Israel, how again and again he supported Israel’s “right to self-defence” and how he arrested decent elderly people who tried to speak up for the Palestinians – while he did sweet fuck all to arrest the monstrous Netanyahu and send him to prison. Hypocrisy? Keir could write a ten-part series based on his own life.

Very good Jude free Palestine
Thank you, James…Dittto.
Queer Starmer has nothing of Labour in him. He’d have Kier Hardy turning in his grave! Well spoken Jude. From the river to the sea……Palestine will in time be free!
