Going Up, Going Down: the race for President of Ireland

So how are the three candidates for President of Ireland doing?  Well, two days ago I spoke with a man who said Paddy Power had put Catherine Connolly  ahead after Monday night’s debate, but she had  fluctuated between first and second since then-sometimes ahead of Heather Humphreys, sometimes behind.

Looking at PP odds just now,  Catherine Connolly is showing just ahead (10/11)  of Heather Humphries. The luckless  Jim Gavin is at 20/1.

On the other hand, the Irish Examiner  reports an opinion poll showing Catherine Connolly at 32%, Heather Humphreys at 23%, and poor Jim Gavin at 15%. I have 15 mins to prepare my lunch, then watch RTÉ’s The Week in Politics, which will feature all three candidates. I’ll come back and tell you what I thought. So presumably will Paddy Power…
