Important announcement (well it is to me)

As someone to whom modesty comes as second nature, I find it difficult to announce  but announce it I must. If you are fortunate enough to have a Kindle or know someone in that happy position, you can now buy my first collection of short stories Booing the Bishop and other stories. The price? Laughably low – insultingly low, in fact: £2 approximately. You’ll laugh, you’ll weep, you’ll twist and shout your way through this series of stories I wrote almost twenty years ago. “Where can I find this masterpiece?” I hear you cry. At http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00RDSILXA/ref=rdr_kindle_ext_tmb  Enjoy!

Thank you neill. But as Bob Dylan so wisely sang “Ah but I was so much older then/I’m younger than that now…”

One feared for you, Esteemed Blogmeister, on reading the title of your collection: ‘Booing the Bishop’.

No, not for your sanity, rather your safety.

But then, on realising that you had written the stories twenty years ago, the feeling of relief was palliative.

That, erm, time line ruled out one particular bishop in particular as she hadn’t been ordained then. The incomparable one, the ullagoning banshee with her big bald egg-shaped head and an even harder-boiled ego.

She may even be in Sinn Fein still, but no, that was long ago (at least a week), in a foreign country, (FSS), and besides, the wench is deadpan in her vocal delivery.

After a few bewildering button presses which took all of five and a half seconds one finds oneself with the collection in question registered as number 357 on one’s Kindle. While one has a distinct recollection of ordering roughly 24 of those titles, nonetheless one is more than chuffed to welcome EB to the unfolding fold.

    (Old dog-eared books don’t hold a c. to one’s Kindle).

And rest assured it has already been facilitated in a spot of queue-jumping. It now finds itself right up there in the top four, jostling with biographies of Adolf, Amadeus and W.C Fields for position.

A sentimental loyalty has nothing to do with this up-bump. Any book which contains reference to Desperate Dan in its first page, not to mention a cover which espouses the cause of inclusivity so skilfully by face-checking Marilyn, Marlon and Elvis, deserves no less.

Go maire tu/ sibh an saothar nua !

Glad you enjoyed my depiction of Jude’s 1950’s.We thrashed out the idea over a morning sometime last summer…..Jude said it was needed NOW….so it had to be deadlined fast. Then I forgot all about it. Yep I always had a thing to Miss Monroe……
