PS re ‘Booing the Bishop and other stories’

Further to my exciting news that my first collection of short stories, ‘Booing the Bishop and other stories’, is now available on Kindle for you and your Kindle-owning loved ones for the microscopic sum of less than £2: unforgivably I forgot to mention that the book’s Kindle cover was designed by none other than the inimitable Paddykool of this parish, with some help from his alter ego Harry McAvinchey. Thank you Paddy and Harry: a superb cover for a superb book. (Blushes furiously and kicks the wall)

I am a writer of the short story myself, Jude with varying degrees of success. I would love to purchase a copy of your book. I was totally unaware that you dabbled in the trickiest of genres. Well done. My humble feedback to come, if you would care to have it.

Splendid, Freddy. I’ll be happy to have it. (You can find out more about the fictional/book me in the ‘Books’ section of this site…

I downloaded this book last night and recommend it highly to anyone who hasn’t got it yet. I initially opted for the ‘sample’ download but knew after a couple of pages that I wanted the whole book and clicked to buy it.
Since then, I’ve read the first three stories. which brought me right back, with delighted recognition, to the mid 20th century childhood experience. As short stories these are perfectly crafted. They do what short story should, leave the reader moved with that sense of having received a gift of something profoundly moving and beautiful.
Congratulations on what promises to be a favourite book. I’ll probably have more to say when I get as far as booing the bishop.

Mary Jo – you know how to make an old man happy – go raibh cead maith agat – thank you very much indeed. Do you think you could put your beautiful, elegant, oh-so-true review up on Kindle? Or is that possible? I’d really really appreciate that – people do respond to reviews. Especially one like this. Thank you again.

Jude, back in the pre-Kindle days, and nights, I’m sure you had never any problem kindling up some passion.
Now you have the Kindle in your hand, you’re all excited over a few kind words.
Oh how things change as temps fugit!

Sherry….you should never underestimate the power of a wee pat on the back!! I”m only sad that I can’t have my cover artwork on a proper paper version of Our’s book. It’ like CDs verses vinyl all over again….
