There is nothing would surprise me from any of the southern parties any more, or their supporters.

Fianna Fail are most certainly not in the remotest way a republican party.

Jude, that #### Kearon made that tweet in APRIL 2013 and even the FF gombeen men had to distance themselves from him. They issued a statement declaring his comments were “totally unacceptable”.

Jude, I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting for Micheal Martin to remonstrate with Moron Kearon, as I saw that tweet a week or more ago, and felt sick to the pit of my stomach to think that any human, never mind a member of a so-called Irish republican party could use such Ku Klux Klan type language about another human being.

What was Fianna Fáil at when others were losing their homes, their lives as other innocent men and women were being incarcerated in Long Kesh and other prisons?

Mr Fearon might find some of the answers in ‘The Boss’ by Joe Joyce and Peter Murtagh. It pushed Machiavelli’s ‘The Prince’ into second place.

“A truly shocking book, reflecting on a society and a breed of politicians which it would be difficult to find anywhere else in the Western world.” — Barry White, The Belfast Telegraph

Alternatively, he might prefer, Frank Connolly’s book, ‘Tom Gilmartin – The Man who brought down a Taoiseach and Exposed the Greed and Corruption at the Heart of Irish Politics.’

    Fianna Fail, the “Republican Party”……

I thought that there was some decency left in Fianna Fail but if Fearon is its Public Face it
should be damned to Hell. Fine Gael and Labour are long gone beyond redemption.

Am no fan of FF as they brought in the IMF, but at least get this into context! was over 3 years, he apologised within the hour, and this was on the night Thatcher died when the online world was full of vile tweets about her, he was on 4FM and was merely highlighting how would those who attack Thatcher would feel about a tweet attacking their comrades.

Also at least the families of the hunger strikers were able to say goodbye to their family members, something no family members of those murdered by the Provos were able to

Mary, the family’s of no one murdered in the conflict were able to say goodbye, like it or not, conflict involves killing people.

Thatcher could have done a lot more to end it sooner, instead she chose to escalate it. Just don’t forget that it was unionists and the British who started it in the first place.

…and the adults and children who lost lives as a result of the use of rubber and plastic bullets?

      Plastic Bullets 1981 – 29,665

      Plastic Bullets Total 1970 – 1981 – 42,669

      Rubber Bullets Total 1970 – 1981 55,834

sad their being used n abused now for party political ends by some,
seen bobby sands cell mate had a bit about it on the pensive quill.

Am i to postulate that you believe that the Provos were the only ones involved in the conflict here…..If the Free State hadn’t abandoned their fellow Irishmen then that phase in our history would never have occurred….try a little soul searching and you might discover no-one is blameless !

The British fifth column is firmly embedded in the free state establishment and media.

This tweet tweet from a PRO of FF, Esteemed Blogmeister, is yet another fascinating insight into the awesome complexity that is the Soldiers of Destiny political movement, oops, stasis.

Whether this indicates a longing for an older, more traditional Free Southern Stateen of thatched cottages and cross-dressing at the road dance or whether it is born of a deeper disturbance within the psyche of the tweety word-bird is a moot point. The latter being caused, perhaps, by the initials involved – S.F. of S.O.D.

Hopefully, not so. And if so, one preys for a speedy recovery.

Suffice to say that it was such a tweet which might well have been the reason why a certain Camel-smoking strawman was so attracted back to FF. And who is now its PRO in chief. One wonders just how long the one and only Harris (for it is he ! the Harris whose blood, erm, boils at the very mench of the SF stench) will remain in this position. Harris of the innumerable Honorary Spin Doctorates.

For if there is one constant in Harris’s soi-distant stellar political career of the mind so far, it is its very inclination to waver. One campaign he is wavering the Trickcolour, the next he is wavering the Union Jack, depending on the room temperature of the house within whose four green walls he so happens to find himself within. At any given moment in t., going forward.

For the nonce he is operating in the zone, the Harris zone.

Some observers of the Impasse of Intermopylae, which currently prevails in the politics endemic to the south of the Black Sow’s Dyke , have compared it to a Chinese puzzle, involving a multiplicity of boxes. Boxes which are ticked by an unending procession of thicks, one thicker even than the next.

The Perkin’s inner troll, on the other hand, tends to look more to – no, not the Greek model -but rather the Scandinavian template. Every time he looks at FF and FG he experiences a momentary confusion not at all unlike what he feels when suddenly confronted with the names, Ingmar Bergman and Ingrid Bergman.

The crucial difference being, of course, that there is a wide-screen of difference between the Bergmans. In the sense that only Ingmar dealt exclusively with ‘death ,illness, faith, betrayal, bleakness and insanity’. Sadly, those concerns are not the monopoly of either FF and FG. But are, indeed, embraced with equal enthusiasm by both less than hearty parties, even unto , some contend, the point of obsession.

Perhaps, to help one out of the Impasse (see above ) the Chinese model might be worth a second grance, oops, glance.
    .
Any stranger lucky enough to find himself in that antique land during the Chinese Zodiac Year of the Rat will immediately be struck by a seeming anomaly. The predominance of a poster , not to mention bunting, kites, streamers, billboards etc,, in public places from Peking all the wall way to Beijing, indeed: the poster of (gulp) Mickey Mouse.

Yes, indeed, the same mouse who was originally to be called Mortimer by its creator, till the real boss (think Madame Mao) stepped in and insisted on Mickey. Mrs Disney (for it was she !) was particularly partial to Mickey, by all accounts.

The reason for this (seeming) anomaly is simple: both rodents, rat and mouse, share a common word in Chinese: shu.

    Sad, but shu.

At the moment in Duibhlinn sur Life, all rodents, oops, roads lead to RTE. So, which is which ? Which is FF and which is FF, which is the Rat Party, which is the Mouse Party ?
Perhaps, the clue lies in the leadership of either party, or neither.

One is canny, the other is Mckey M.

    If the (gasp) shu fits;

Fianna Fail again, Fianna Fail better.
