Adrian is outraged

DUP MLA Adrian McQuillan is not a happy bunny. That’s because he’s noticed that republicans (he claims) have been painting out the ‘London’ in Londonderry road signs.

“I have written to the Infrastructure Minister about removing spray paint blocking out ‘London’ from Londonderry on road signs” Adrian says.

He wants the paint-out to be removed and at least one spraying miscreant to be charged with lawlessness.

“It is such a petty thing to spray over the word ‘London’ and it portrays a negative image that we are supposed to have left behind us.”

Adrian notes that the closer you get to the city on the Foyle (see what I did there?), the more numerous the black-outs. Athough Adrian wouldn’t say it, in case he’s thinking it I’ll say it: this is a blatant attempt at ethnic-cleansing in the Nort-West of our beloved Province. Even more appalling: the ethnic-cleansing plague has leaped across the English Channel and put down its hellish roots in foreign parts. Below is a picture taken last month, which shows another loathsome example of this assault on Britishness. In it  the offensive prefix has been erased from a map which is held behind a glass panel in the British Institute of a large Spanish city:

You are so right, Adrian – very poor form. But what can you expect from a city populated by a swarm of foreigners who tried to invade our British shores a mere 550+ years ago?

Only city in the world with six silent letters at the beginning of its name……

If it is such a petty thing to spray over the word ‘London’, then surely it is even more petty (pettier?) to complain about it!
Maybe Adrian should complain to the City of London companies who had the effrontery to prefix the original name ‘Derry’ with their own self-importance.

If this is the handiwork of ”republicans”, its strange that the ”London” bit wasn’t painted over on the signs in and around Strabane. Maybe there’s no republicans in Strabane. Adrian?

““I have written to the Infrastructure Minister about removing spray paint blocking out ‘London’ from Londonderry on road signs” Adrian says”

This should be top of SF/IRA’s priority list in the Department of Infrastructure! forget about potholes on our roads, cutting journey times between cities to entice foreign investment, etc this is much more important!….

“He wants the paint-out to be removed and at least one spraying miscreant to be charged with lawlessness”

They should be charged with treason and locked away in the Tower of London……

“It is such a petty thing to spray over the word ‘London’ and it portrays a negative image that we are supposed to have left behind us.”

I agree with Adrian, it is extremely petty, its almost as petty as changing a boats name from Irish to English, printing 40,000 leaflets in order to intimidate Belfast City Councillors not to vote to remove the fleg and demanding a majority nationalist town (Magherafelt) not to remove a flag pole with a Union fleg on it because….emm, we want our fleg to be in their faces……

” Athough Adrian wouldn’t say it, in case he’s thinking it I’ll say it: this is a blatant attempt at ethnic-cleansing in the Nort-West of our beloved Province”

See? this is what happens when them bloody croppies aren’t forced to lie down and are given their rights. Our culture is being genocided in Londonderry. Wish we were back in the good ol’ days when a vote from a taig was worth less than half of a Prod……

Just another good reason to leave that Union of Garlic smelling, cheese eating surrender monkeys! The EU is anti British and wants to help SF/IRA in their genocide of British culture! this latest attack on Londonderry should prompt our Prime Minister to sever all diplomat relations with the EU, most of them are bead rattlers anyway! and we know what the dear Rev Paisley told us about them!…..

Well, he’s a bit slow off the block isn’t he? It’s been going on for decades and some cunning South Derry loyalists have retaliated by scribbling out the ‘Derry’ as revenge so sometimes when you’re driving towards ‘the city on the Foyle’ you’ll just see ‘blank – 43’.

Obviously the DUP have done something (else) dumb hence this latest exercise in distraction by them…

Possibly Gregory C on the radio today and the latest instalment of bashing anything that resembles equality. Namely the equality commission and himself getting into a mumble over the number of catholic employees. Honestly, I’ll be strongly advising my teenage children to look elsewhere to settle apart from this shambles in the 6. I’m sorry I didn’t emigrate in my 20’s

Ach sure it’s simple to resolve; just add, ‘Aughrim, Enniskillen and the Boyne’ onto each road sign. After all, if ‘London; is removed, there might be room!

I might be forgetting my A’ level history but, surely the merchants of London only colonised the oldest city in Ireland whenever their king, who was a bit of a queen, threatened to fine them for not having done so when first permitted decades before.
If my learning was correct, how proud are the DUP of such association?

Dont hear him or his cronies complaining when the bigots paint over Irish road signs. Egged on by that great campaigner Frazer.

They seem to have misplaced Béal Feirste on that second map too
