Father Joseph Mallin , 103-year-old Jesuit priest in Hong Kong and son of Michael Mallin executed by the British on May 8th 1916, prepared a Document ” In Memory of my Father“ which debunks the libel and slander of Michael’s good name as a courageous, honest and a man of integrity by the British Empire’s Brigadier Macconchy in HIS Report on the Court Martial of Michael. For reasons detailed in Fr. Joe’s document Brigadier Macconchy created the FALSE NEWS regarding Michael.
Unfortunately lazy and incompetent historians and commentators parrot the propaganda record as if it was genuine. The combined families of Michael Mallin and his wife Agnes Hickey daughter of Joseph Hickey the Fenian from The Strawberry Beds decided at the commemorative Mass and Dinner on May 8th 2016 ( attended by 180 extended family members) to say “enough is enough”. Spearheaded by his grand nephew Seán Tapley in conjunction with Father Joseph Mallin ,we have made a first effort to correct the record and see that justice is done to the good name of his father.
Father Joseph’s Document was presented to KILMAINHAM GAOL ARCHIVE on June 15th 2017 with over 100 people in attendance.
