PAT + JUDE TALK ABOUT PRINCIPLES IN POLITICS, ASTRAZENECA + LEGAL ACTION, AND MARY LOU ON TV

Is there a principled politician in Britain or Ireland? Boris Johnson doing favours for his mate Mr Dyson, David Cameron lobbying for his good mates, Leo Varadkar tipping off friends about the state of medical negotiations – is everybody at it? And if so, does it really matter?

The South’s health minister, Stephen Donnelly, says the EU is involved in taking a legal case against the Astrazeneca company; the EU health commissioner says they haven’t, or not yet anyway. Should they? Or are they getting their retaliation in already by airing their suspicions about those (very rare) cases of blood-clotting?

Last night, Mary Lou McDonald was interviewed on RTÉ about the data her party held on voters, and whether it was legal. And she was asked what she thought of the assassination of Lord Mountbatten in 1979. How did she do? Check it out.

Finally, I gave my recommendation for weekend viewing. But be pre-warned – the Zoom-chat ends suddenly – Pat and I are agreed it was clearly MI5 at work…
